This lego is a great buy! It comes with 2 classic clone troopers which includes two blaster riffles from the clone series. This toy is very durable. If your like me I hate when legos fall apart, this had no problems when in middle of building or the end and you do have to glue pieces either. It has a built in cockpit which can hold up two two lego characters. Or you can choose to have one character on the turrent on top of the model. This is an excellent gift idea and extremly fun lego!

I loved playing with LEGOs as a kid, and I love Star Wars, and so does my husband - so when my husband and I got engaged we registered for a bunch of Star Wars/Indiana Jones LEGO sets. I know it seems like a weird registry gift, but why not?

To our surprise, we actually did get quite a few LEGO sets from our friends, and I think so far this is my favorite - it has some really neat pieces and it was fun to put together. It's now on display on our DVD shelf. The missle launcher is fun too :) My husband really liked putting together the treads for the hailfire droid's wheels.

Some people have been saying that this set is not very durable, and falls apart esily. I don't want to be rude, but all the reviews saying this occured when the set belonged to a fairly young child. This set is very durable, and meant for MILD play. This is definately one of LEGO's best SW sets ever!

Hi. Today I will be making a review of the new Lego set, the Rebel Scout speeder. I will rate it either *, **, ***, ****, or *****.

Durability: ****
The speeder itself is very durable! I dropped it from 5 feet and all of it held together, except the turret, which fell off. Also, the Rebel's helmets don't stay on well, but they're easy to put back on.

Fun: *****
This a great set for playing with, but only if you get the Imperial Dropship. (Or the older Imperial Landing Craft). It comes with four new Rebel troopers, which you cannot, I repeat, CANNOT get in any other set.
It has four guys, 2 blasters and 2 blaster rifles, (all with holding spots on the sides.), and a speeder with a removable turret on the back.
The only bad thing is that you can't fit all 4 guy's in the speeder, you have to have one in the turret. Not a BIG problem though

Building Experience: ***
This is an okay build, but not great. It's a pretty easy build, only 82 pieces, so I reccommend it for someone 6-11. But no matter what age, it is a good set.

Overall: **** and 1/2
It's a very good set, at a VERY affordable price. Though not good alone, it is great with an Imperial Dropship (or Landing Craft)! I would reccommend it to a friend. Happy Building!

When LEGO Star Wars: The Original Trilogy hit the DS, it suffered horribly from bugs and glitches that made it nearly impossible to enjoy the game. From characters suddenly hitting you for no reason, to glitches that froze up the game entirely. Apparently they all learned something. LEGO Indiana Jones is not nearly as crude in its development.

As it goes, the handheld games are usually never as good as the console counterparts. LEGO Indiana Jones on the DS doesn't have all the same level designs as its console counterparts. It's overall a smaller game, but it does at least share many similar qualities in the gameplay department.

You'll play through all three of the original movies. Raiders of the Lost Ark, Temple of Doom, and The Last Crusade. In each level you'll play as whoever the story dictates you be at that time. When you complete a level once on story mode, you can return later in Free Play mode with different characters and uncover new secrets you otherwise couldn't before. It's all simple stuff and much of it plays like the console games. You can't go through a level as a single character, though. Puzzles and obstacles often force you to switch to a different character.

Throughout your adventures you'll also collect studs, which can be used to purchase hidden characters and other goodies. Collecting studs can be done by destroying objects or by simply defeating enemies. If you should ever perish, there's no penalty other than losing studs. There's no such thing as a game over in LEGO Indiana Jones, and just the same it's a fairly easy game.

Well, mostly easy. LEGO Indiana Jones puts much more emphasis on hand to hand combat. In the LEGO Star Wars games characters either had a lightsaber or some kind of blaster. In Indiana Jones you can pick up a gun at some spots, but they have limited ammo. Most times, however, you don't have the luxury of a gun while your enemy does. Thus, you're forced to take them down with your own two fists. Unfortunately, half the battle of getting to them is dying. When the enemy has some kind of projectile and you only have your fists, getting to them can be a pain.

Two people can also play, but both will need a copy of the game in order to do so. It takes a minute or so to set up. It isn't quite as easy as just picking up a controller and joining in, but a player can still drop out pretty much any time he wants.

There are some features exclusive to the DS. Such as being able to switch characters using the stylus or having to blow into the microphone for certain tasks, but these are really not all that special and instead feel a little tacked on.

Graphically the DS game looks pretty good. When the 3D mechanics of the DS are brought out, you're usually getting a good game. But the best part is that this doesn't suffer from so many bugs or anything. It's a good looking game, but it's also a good running game. There are a few issues with the camera (as the console versions suffer from this as well) and the levels aren't exactly the same, but it's still good all together. If you've played the console versions, however, just keep in mind that you're getting a relatively smaller game, but still a great experience. Much of the music is the same as the movie. It sounds pretty good for the most part, although some of it coming from the DS's speakers doesn't sound as good as it does from the actual consoles.

If there was anything that Lego Indiana Jones truly suffers from, it would be that the game is just simply too short. While there's a ton to uncover in freeplay mode, the main story itself won't take you too long to complete. It's not that long on the consoles, and as I said, on the DS you're getting a smaller game... so expect it to be even shorter. It doesn't stop it from being an amazing game, however, and there's a lot of replay value here.

Even on the DS, Lego Indiana Jones is a treat. It may not be as big and expansive as the console versions, but it is still a great game to behold.

I've been a fan of the Lego video game series since its inception in Lego Star Wars on the PS2. I hated the Star Wars prequels, but a couple of good games came out of them. Then Lego Star Wars came along and actually made the story-lines in the prequels fun and engaging, which is something that the movies themselves were unable to accomplish.

Lego Batman expands on the same basic concept from the original Lego Star Wars, with solid platforming and light combat mixed with puzzle solving. The co-op mode is drop in, drop out, at any moment, making this a great game for playing with friends. The unlimited lives means that a bad player constantly dying won't hamper progress, although it can be frustrating when you are trying to unlock content by doing well in the levels.

The big innovation in Lego Batman is the addition of a parallel storyline, with you playing the villains in their own quest to overthrow law and order in Gotham city. The super-villains each have unique abilities that mix up the gameplay nicely. That's not to say that the heroes don't have a variety powers themselves. Batman, Robin and their various cohorts have a selection of specialty suits that would make the DC Direct action figure designers proud. The story-lines for both the heroes and villains are unique narratives, which gives the game a freedom that was not present in the previous, movie-based Lego Games.

Graphically the game is on par with other Wii games, looking clean and colorful. Some of the levels are a bit dark, making it hard to pickup the dark suited Batman from his environs. Thankfully, this is only a problem on rare occasions. The sound is excellent, especially the brilliant use of Danny Elfman's score from Tim Burton's 1989 Batman film. The music ties everything into a familiar Batman framework even when it gets rather silly. The music loops a bit too often considering how long you can stay in one area collecting items and looking for secrets, but it never gets annoying.

The Wii controls are excellent, which I have found to be a common case for more traditional games on the Wii. The mix of nunchuck and remote works amazingly, although the motion controls are neglected in favor of tight implementation of classic analog controls.

With all its un-lockables, the easy to pick up and varied levels, and the huge number of different characters to play, Lego Batman brings together all the elements that have made the previous Lego games while jettisoning the baggage of being bound to a movie storyline. Perhaps the best Lego game yet!

No they are not cheap. No the box isn't full to even half capacity. But these toys are still around for a reason: they rock. More specifically, they are indestructible, offer immense replay value, encourage creative quiet and thoughtful play, promote fine motor skill development, and they are just plain fun.

Think about the countless cheap $3.99 and $4.99 soft plastic throw away toys you've bought over the years: invariably imported and with unknown lead content, cost pennies to make, including the polly pockets, fairies, mermaids, bratz, little ponies, strawberry shortcakes, littlest petz, etc. All of those toys are very restrictive in the type of play they permit, fall apart, and lose your child's interest after a few days.. until you buy another worthless set for their next "fix."

In the case of legos i would argue that if you just refrain from buying those cheap blister packed toys for a few months you will have saved more than enough to get this or another "flexible" set of legos. I don't care for the elaborate lego sets that have you follow intricate instructions to build a pirate ship, or harry potters house, or a star wars backdrop,etc. Those are just as restrictive and inflexible in their play.

So get this set or something similar as soon as you are sure your kid won't choke on a brick. It is something they will play with now and in the future. You'll beat inflation, you'll have it for future kids you might have, or those who might visit, and it will always have excellent resale value on e_bay.

As for the merits and value of this particular set, i think it is fairly reasonable relative to prices for used, bulk collections you might get on an auction website, or compared to the more expensive, larger, thematic sets - such as the "townhouse", lunar lander, or whatever. It has 4 wheels, 2 axles, 1 figure (a mechanic dude), a set of mini tools for the figure, 1 door, 2 windows, some clear pieces for windshields or windows, a propellor/windmill piece, a radiator grille, a cute mini steering wheel, and assorted bricks including some long ones. The base unfortunately isn't even standard height, but sort of a cheap 1/5 or 1/4 height. So that's a little lame. So it isn't perfect but i can't find a better variety pack for the price. Although the Lego 4+ Basic Bulk Set might be a good second set to consider.

We got this set to augment the pink little girls set with the jump rope on the box. Together they are a reasonable set but its still a small collection. I would contend that similar to the defense department maintaining an army that can fight a war in 2 theatres at once, you should have enough legos to build 2 houses at once. That is unless you have more than 2 kids..
